Marrakech — Moroccan funding institution TAMWILCOM joined forces with leading MENA region startup accelerator Flat6Labs today at GITEX Africa 2025.
The partnership launches a new acceleration program for innovative Moroccan startups. It focuses on high-potential sectors including AgriTech, FinTech, Industry 4.0, CleanTech, Healthcare, Big Data, and AI.
The collaboration builds on TAMWILCOM’s December 2023 agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to develop acceleration support for Moroccan startups.
“We continue our commitment to Moroccan startups and tech companies,” said Hicham Zanati Serghini, Director General of TAMWILCOM in a statement.
“Flat6Labs’ expertise will help structure a key stage in the entrepreneurial journey: the acceleration of innovative projects, which is essential for successful fundraising,” he added.
The program is oriented to provide startups with access to high-level support from Flat6Labs.
Not only that, the initiative will be complemented by opportunities of appropriate financing options made available for startups.
The initiative aims to speed up venture capital fundraising for participating startups.
The IFC Regional Representative for the Maghreb David Tinel explained that their “collaboration with TAMWILCOM, part of the World Bank Group’s long-standing partnership, will strengthen financing options for Moroccan startups and innovative companies, particularly during the crucial startup phase, promoting technological innovation in Morocco.”
“This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to supporting sustainable and inclusive growth driven by the private sector to create more quality jobs,”he added.
Flat6Labs promises to design and implement a comprehensive support program focused on preparing startups for fundraising.
“The goals of this program are part of our DNA: unlocking the potential of high-impact startups by giving them the tools they need to grow, structure themselves, and attract funding for national and international development,” explained Yehia Houry, Chief Programs Officer at Flat6Labs.
The statement confirms both partners’ shared commitment to building a more structured, competitive, and innovation-focused Moroccan entrepreneurial ecosystem, aligning with the North African country’s technological innovation ambitions.
