Rabat – Police in Tangier arrested a man late Saturday night after he fled the scene of a traffic accident in the city center.

The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, had been caught on video driving erratically and endangering the lives of others on the road.

The footage, which spread quickly across social media platforms, shows the driver weaving dangerously through traffic before causing a crash and speeding away.

Local authorities responded immediately after the video surfaced online, launching an investigation to identify and locate the suspect.

Investigators confirmed that the man’s reckless driving led to material damage.

He abandoned the scene without offering assistance or reporting the incident.

The video, which captured the moments before and after the collision, played a key role in helping officers piece together what happened.

Police located the suspect not long after and impounded his vehicle as part of the ongoing investigation. He now remains in custody while judicial authorities look into the full details of the case.

Officials say the incident serves as a reminder of the risks posed by dangerous driving and the consequences that follow.
