Hamza Benabdellah, President of the Fez-Meknes Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS), was elected Vice-President of the Permanent Conference of African and Francophone Consular Chambers (CPCCAF) on Friday, during the organization’s 49th General Assembly held in Fez.
The statutory meeting coincided with the 5th Fez-Meknes Economic Forum and also saw the election of Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Djibouti, as CPCCAF’s new President. Dawaleh succeeds Christophe Eken, head of the Chamber of Commerce of Cameroon.
Benabdellah welcomed the Fez-Meknes CCIS’s election to the vice-presidency of CPCCAF — a first for the institution — as recognition of its growing international engagement, especially in Africa and the Francophone world.
“This is a testament to the work we’ve done to strengthen economic diplomacy and build lasting international partnerships,” he told MAP, adding that the new role will help “boost Fez’s visibility and influence at the continental and Francophone levels.”
Newly elected CPCCAF President Dawaleh expressed his appreciation for being chosen in Fez, a city he described as emblematic for its cultural heritage and regional economic clout. He also extended his gratitude to Morocco for its hospitality and the smooth organization of the event.
By uniting chambers of commerce across continents, CPCCAF empowers local businesses, strengthens institutional capacity, and fosters a shared vision of sustainable and inclusive growth.
Founded in 1973 in Dakar, CPCCAF connects more than eight million businesses across 24 Francophone countries, making it one of the most influential economic networks in the French-speaking world.
