Rabat — Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports announced Saturday that 311,625 students from public and private schools successfully passed their baccalaureate exams in 2025. The results cover both regular and make-up exam sessions.
The overall pass rate reached 83.3% for both sessions combined, down from 84.1% in 2024. This represents a slight decrease of 0.8 percentage points compared to the previous year.
Make-up session results show strong performance
The make-up session saw 59,918 enrolled students pass their exams, with an attendance rate of 94.2%.
Meanwhile, 12,341 independent candidates succeeded in the make-up session, though their attendance rate was lower at 61.3%.
Independent candidates, who take the exam without attending regular classes, achieved a 55.1% pass rate across both sessions.
The figure represents a decline from 57.6% in 2024, with 38,484 independent candidates passing overall.
Ministry commends education sector’s commitment
In a statement, the ministry commended the dedication and responsibility shown by education and training professionals throughout this major national milestone, pointing to the excellent commitment of educators in implementing measures that ensure the credibility of Morocco’s baccalaureate system.
The ministry said that these efforts help guarantee equal opportunities for all candidates taking the exam, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Ministry officials expressed deep appreciation to families and local authorities who contributed to the smooth operation of the exams. Security forces also received recognition for their role in maintaining order during the testing period.
The ministry acknowledged the media’s important role in covering the various stages of the examination process, noting that this comprehensive support from multiple sectors helped ensure the successful completion of the 2025 baccalaureate sessions.
The baccalaureate exam remains Morocco’s primary gateway to higher education, determining university admission for thousands of students across the country each year.
