Hamza Igamane is making quite the impression for both club and country, according to L’Équipe.
The 22-year-old striker scored a brilliant goal in Morocco’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Zambia at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. Reacting quickest to a loose ball, he fired a 27-metre half-volley past goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata to double Morocco’s lead.

It follows another strong display last week coming on as a substitute in the 66th minute when he scored the fourth goal with a header and assisted the fifth in Morocco’s 5-0 win over Niger at the dazzling rebuilt Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Igamane has also hit the ground running with his new club, Lille, scoring a second-half brace in a 7-1 pummeling of Lorient. That came just a few days after the French side secured his $12.7 million transfer from Glasgow Rangers.

Igamane left Rangers after a controversial exit. He missed training and refused to come on as a substitute against St Mirren, and was absent ahead of a key Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge. Rangers later confirmed Lille had triggered his release clause, ending his one-year spell in Scotland coming from AS FAR Rabat.

Speaking before joining Lille, Igamane said: “First of all, thank God, I managed to make a good transfer. I am very happy that my transfer has come to fruition under the best possible conditions. I joined a French club that helps young talents to develop, so that they can be in the best environment.”
Lille fans are clearly delighted with their new signing. One said: “I think an alien signed for Ligue 1 this summer. He plays for LOSC, he’s Moroccan and his name is Hamza Igamane.”
Another added: “Hamza Igamane for $12.7 million, we’re heading straight for the robbery of the century for LOSC.”
