Morocco’s Barid Al-Maghrib and Saudi Post have signed two major agreements aimed at deepening cooperation in the postal sector and supporting the rapid rise of e-commerce.
The deals were concluded on the sidelines of the 28th Universal Postal Congress (UPU), held in Dubai from September 8 to 19 under the theme “Leading Change, Creating the Future,” with more than 2,000 delegates from the UPU’s 192 member states in attendance.
The first agreement is a cooperation protocol designed to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions in meeting emerging challenges facing the postal industry, particularly through the exchange of innovative services and products, according to a statement from Barid Al-Maghrib.
The second agreement focuses on the exchange of postal consignments through Saudi Post’s extraterritorial exchange offices – a strategic mechanism to streamline the handling of e-commerce shipments and facilitate logistics flows between the two countries.
These accords build on the work of the 4th Morocco-Saudi Arabia Joint Cooperation Commission, held in Mecca on March 5 and reflect the shared commitment of both institutions to deepen ties and foster high-value, structural partnerships.
Through these initiatives, Barid Al-Maghrib and Saudi Post reaffirm their ambition to keep pace with the rapid evolution of the postal and e-commerce markets, while contributing to a broader dynamic of cooperation and sustainable development in postal services, the statement concluded.
