Rabat – Morocco is gearing up to host one of Africa’s largest technology and industry gatherings, the World Advanced Manufacturing & Future Mobility (WAM) Morocco, set to take place in Casablanca from January 20-22, 2026.
The event is expected to cement the country’s position as a continental hub for advanced manufacturing, logistics, and future mobility solutions.
A platform for growth
Alex Nicholl, President of the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), described WAM Morocco as a launchpad for the next decade of innovation.
“We are here to accelerate and enhance Moroccan industry, working with the Moroccan government and bringing international technology to strengthen what already exists, positioning Morocco for the next decade with the right technology,” he told Morocco World News (MWN).
Organizers estimate the event will bring together more than 350 exhibitors, 250 startups, and 20,000 trade visitors from over 45 countries, with international startups pitching to investors and two conference tracks dedicated to leadership and technology.
Technology meets industry
The initiative is backed by Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE). It reflects the country’s strategy to accelerate industrial transformation while drawing foreign investment.
According to Alexandria Robinson, Commercial Director at the DWTC, the show will showcase cutting-edge technologies such as AI, 3D printing, blockchain, quantum computing, and mixed reality, building on the expertise behind GITEX Africa, which attracted 1,400 companies to Marrakech earlier this year.
From roadshow to global stage
Ahead of the main event, organizers launched the “Meet & Connect” roadshow in Rabat and Casablanca, where professionals and innovators were introduced to the vision of WAM Morocco. Chakib Achour, DWTC’s representative in Morocco, noted that the model mirrors the GITEX concept but tailored for the industrial and logistics sectors.
“WAM Morocco applies the concept of GITEX to industry and logistics, with the ambition of positioning Morocco as a competitive and sustainable industrial hub,” Achour told MWN.
“The idea is to talk about innovation, AI, technology, and how it can transform this sector and also make a link between all these aspects,” he further said.
Achour added that the event will foster collaboration between startups and investors while integrating technology providers in cloud, cybersecurity, and telecommunications.
Targeted sectors include green energy, pharmaceuticals, automotive, aerospace, and agribusiness, with a strong emphasis on 5G connectivity and data security.
Morocco’s industrial horizon
By hosting WAM Morocco, the country signals its intent to lead Africa in Industry 4.0 and future mobility.
The three-day gathering is set to bridge global technology leaders with Morocco’s industrial ecosystem, shaping the trajectory of the country’s economic and technological ambitions in the decade ahead.
This vision also ties into Morocco’s preparations for major international events such as the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which the country will co-host with Spain and Portugal. Beyond their sporting significance, these tournaments are seen as catalysts for infrastructure upgrades, new mobility solutions, and large-scale investment in logistics and smart cities.
