Rabat – Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), General Mohamed Berrid, received General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of Ghana, on Tuesday at the headquarters of the FAR General Staff in Rabat.
The Ghanaian military chief is on a working visit to Morocco from September 28 to October 3.
During the meeting, Agyapong recalled the significance of King Mohammed VI’s official visit to Ghana in 2017, which he said laid the foundation for a constructive and supportive partnership between the two nations.
He emphasized that both heads of state share common values of peace, African solidarity, and mutual respect, according to a statement from the FAR General Staff.
The encounter, attended by Ghana’s ambassador to Morocco, was marked by expressions of satisfaction over the exemplary ties between the two countries.
Agyapong also noted that his current visit represents a key milestone, providing an opportunity to deepen military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the Ghana Armed Forces.
The two sides agreed to further develop cooperation in various areas, with the intention of exploring new domains of collaboration that could broaden the scope of their bilateral defense partnership.
