Morocco’s national team camp kicked off this week with two key players carrying injuries – Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui and Real Betis midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Mazraoui arrived on Monday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé to join the national squad ahead of matches against Bahrain and Congo. The right-back, who has been struggling with fitness issues since the start of the season, was not included in Walid Regragui’s squad list but still reported to camp for medical assessment and recovery work.

Amrabat, meanwhile, is also in camp after sustaining a thigh injury during Betis’ Europa League match against Ludogorets Razgrad last Thursday. His club confirmed he suffered a fascial muscle injury to the rectus femoris following a collision. The 29-year-old is being monitored by Morocco’s medical staff and is expected to sit out the upcoming fixtures.
Morocco will face Bahrain on Thursday before hosting Congo on 14 October, with both matches taking place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
