Rabat – A Moroccan team of three talented students has proven that the country’s youth can compete on the global stage after achieving outstanding results at the 2025 International Mathematics and Science Olympiad, held in Alor Setar, Malaysia, from October 5 to 9.
The three Moroccan participants won three bronze medals in the individual mathematics competition.
The national team also made history by taking first place in the group STEM activities category, outperforming teams from globally recognized leaders in science and technology such as China, Singapore, Vietnam, and the US.
The Moroccan Mathematical Sciences Association supervised and prepared the team, ensuring optimal conditions for their participation.
The association’s support shows ongoing efforts to strengthen Morocco’s scientific education system and nurture a new generation of innovators.
This international recognition places Morocco among the top countries producing young talents capable of excelling in science and technology.
It also proves the country’s continued investment in educational programs that foster creativity, analytical thinking, and academic excellence from an early stage.
This achievement is not an isolated feat. Earlier this year, Moroccan high school students made headlines at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad in Australia, where they delivered the country’s best performance in more than three decades.
Competing against some of the world’s most exceptional young mathematicians, the Moroccan team accumulated a total of 106 points, earning two bronze medals and four honorable mentions.
It was Morocco’s second-best result in the history of the prestigious competition and its strongest performance since 1983, confirming the steady rise of Moroccan talent on the global academic stage.
