Rabat – Rabat will host on Thursday the first Arab-African Summit on Non-Profit Financing, a statement from youth-focused association EPIK Leaders announced.
The pan-African association is organizing the event, to open a new chapter in solidarity-based financing between the Arab world and Africa.
The summit will convene experts, decision-makers, and civil society leaders from Arab and African regions to discuss a variety of themes, including traditional financing models.
Other key areas of focus include leveraging Islamic finance and social impact investment, strengthening governance and transparency towards donors, as well as building Arab-African bridges between public, private, and non-profit stakeholders.
The symposium seeks to work as a platform to discuss solutions, leading to the development of a joint roadmap for more inclusive and sustainable financing, as well as the launch of pilot initiatives between Arab and African countries.
The event also seeks to create a permanent platform for dialogue and cooperation among NGOs, businesses, and institutions, the statement added.
The event taking place at INSEA in Rabat is bringing together speakers from different sectors, including Khouloud Mabrouk, a media advisor and consultant at BBC Media Action, and executives from EPIK Leaders, including Nizar Chaari, the founder of the association, and its president, Maahmoud Cherkaoui.
The program will feature various panels, including one focused on the rise of Islamic finance and social investment, which will explore youth inclusion and empowerment.
Other panels will discuss traditional financing in the face of new geological dynamics, and the governance and transparency in a changing world.
The symposium will also feature a hub for networking among attendees and participants.
