Rabat – The 33rd CAF Awards are finally here, and they’re taking place this Wednesday at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat . This is the third year that Morocco will host the whole shebang.
This time around, Grammy-winner Angélique Kidjo and comedian Oualass are hosting the event.
Many Moroccan nominees are in the running for an award, from household names like Achraf Hakimi, Ghizlane Chebbak and even fresh talent like El Madani and Maamma. There are players from the senior and U20 teams in the race.
To top it all off, Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, Congolese veteran Awilo Longomba, and Ghanaian artist Fuse ODG are all performing. It will be an exciting night of awards and a top African musical lineup.
This year is crunch time for several Moroccan stars. Achraf Hakimi’s in with a shout for African Player of the Year after a standout season with PSG. He’s up against Mohamed Salah and Victor Osimhen for the top prize.
On the women’s front, there’s Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaâ Mssoudy — both in the running for African Women’s Player of the Year, great news for Moroccan women’s football.

When and where to watch
The CAF Awards are kicking off at 19:00 local time (GMT+1), and red carpet coverage is likely to start half an hour or so before that.
The ceremony will be available to watch on CAF’s YouTube channel, beIN Sports, CANAL+, SuperSport, Azam, and on Morocco’s SNRT channels Al Aoula & Arryadia.
CAF’s digital platforms & social media will be running live updates as well.
