Marrakech – As Africa celebrates Africa Industrialization Day, the upcoming Morocco International Mining Congress 2025 (IMC Morocco) highlights the continent’s accelerating industrial momentum — with Morocco positioning itself at the centre of this transformation.
Held from November 24-26 at the Pickalbatros Golf Hotel in Marrakech, the second edition of IMC Morocco is organized by the Federation of the Mineral Industry of Morocco (FDIM) in partnership with AME Trade Ltd, and supported by the Ministry of Energy Transition & Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and AMDIE.
As global value chains undergo rapid restructuring, Morocco continues to consolidate its status as one of Africa’s most advanced and competitive industrial platforms. The Kingdom now stands out as:
- Africa’s top mining investment destination (Fraser Institute, 2025) and 18th globally.
- A world leader in phosphates, expanding exploration in cobalt, copper, lithium, manganese, rare earths, and precious metals.
- A regional hub for low-carbon manufacturing, backed by national strategies in renewables, battery materials, and green hydrogen.
- A country with one of the continent’s most sophisticated logistics systems, enabling seamless industrial integration through ports, free zones, and transcontinental corridors.
Combined, these strengths place Morocco at the heart of Africa’s industrialization plans and align closely with the UN’s vision for sustainable, inclusive, and climate-conscious industrial growth.
IMC Morocco 2025 is expected to welcome over 500 delegates, 50 speakers, and senior representatives from governments, mining companies, OEMs, technology suppliers, financial institutions, and academia. Across three days, the congress will:
- Chart Africa’s position in the energy transition and the global race for critical minerals.
- Strengthen South–South alliances and continental industrial partnerships.
- Highlight Morocco’s integrated mining and industrial ecosystems, showcasing opportunities in exploration, processing, electromobility, renewables, and advanced materials.
- Promote responsible development through sessions dedicated to ESG, water management, skills development, women in mining, and logistics corridors.
The program features a ministerial roundtable, strategic discussions, technical exchanges, and the IMC Morocco Mining Excellence Awards, which will spotlight outstanding contributions across Africa’s mining sector.
As institutions worldwide reflect on Africa’s industrial priorities, IMC Morocco underlines a key message: industrialization depends on secure, responsible, and sustainable access to strategic resources.
Morocco’s regulatory reforms, investor-friendly policies, and commitment to decarbonized industrial expansion underscore its role in shaping a more competitive and resilient African economy.
