AFCON 2025: The Countdown Begins – Everything You Need to Know with 30 Days to Go

With just 30 days remaining until the start of AFCON 2025, Morocco is preparing to host a major sporting spectacle.

Rabat – With just 30 days remaining until the start of AFCON 2025, Morocco is preparing to host a major sporting spectacle. The tournament kicks off on December 21, 2025, concludes on January 18, 2026, featuring 24 teams competing for continental glory.

With fan engagement more intense than ever, many are now watching the AFCON qualifying betting markets as teams fine-tune their strategies ahead of the tournament kickoff.

Nine state-of-the-art stadiums spread across six Moroccan cities will host the action. In Rabat, four venues will see matches – including the prestigious Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium – with a capacity of 69,500, hosting the opening match, a semi-final,  and the grand final. Other host cities include:

  • Tangier, home to the Ibn Batouta Stadium, which will also hold a semi-final.
  • Casablanca, Agadir, Fès, and Marrakech will host quarter-final matches.
  • The Rabat Olympic Stadium, with a capacity of 21,000, will host some group-stage matches.

Morocco’s infrastructure is rapidly modernizing: the capital city, Rabat, now boasts four futuristic arenas ready for the African football showcase.

Why it matters: This AFCON will not just be a tournament, but a platform to showcase Morocco’s ambition and dynamism on the pan-African sporting stage – and a stepping stone toward co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

In exactly 𝟑𝟎 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒, 24 nations will meet in Morocco 🤩🇲🇦
