In his speech, Al Raisi extended his highest expressions of gratitude to King Mohammed VI as well as Morocco’s security officials, including the General Director of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi.
“The meeting of INTERPOL’s General Assembly is not merely an annual gathering. It is an essential platform that strengthens international cooperation in policing and security, and enables member states to shape the future of the world’s largest police organization,” Interpol said.
Al Raisi emphasized recalled Interpol’s activity since assuming his responsibilities as president of the organization has been focused on modernizing key operations.
“Over the past four years, the efforts of member states came together, and we succeeded in turning vision into reality,” he said, citing the world’s coordination in over 200 cross-border operations.
The operation resulted in not only drug seizures, but also the recovery and retrieval of stolen vehicles valued at $17.3 billion.
“We issued recovery notices for stolen assets worth $19 billion. These are not just numbers. They represent lives we protected and criminal networks whose activities were disrupted and dismantled,” he said.
Al Rais stressed that database searches and checks have doubled, reaching 7.8 billion actions, an increase of nearly 100% since his election as Interpol president in 2021.
