Rabat- President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation Fouzi Lekjaa announced yesterday that a mind-boggling 800,000 tickets for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have already been sold. Lekjaa said at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora that all the matches involving the Moroccan team are now officially sold out – every single ticket has been snapped up, there’s not a seat left.

Ticket sales for AFCON 2025 started in mid-October with a 48-hour pre-sale exclusive for Visa cardholders as a bit of a warm-up before opening to the general public. As of early November, CAF confirmed a total of 298,000 sold in the first two phases with purchases coming in from a total of 106 countries across the globe and 33 African countries. The sales numbers continued to climb when the third phase opened on November 15.

Prices range from MAD 100 ($10) MAD to MAD 900 ($90) depending on the stadium, type of seating and just how big of a deal the match is. To help make things a bit smoother for the fans, CAF and the local organizing committee introduced a free e-visa system through the Yalla app. The app is also in charge of the obligatory Fan ID which is needed to get into the stadium.

Ticket sales perfectly illustrate the global buzz

The 800k milestone is a clear sign of just how much excitement there is for the tournament, which commences in Morocco on December 21, 2025 and finishes on January 18, 2026.

The stadiums should be packed, especially for the Morocco matches and other top teams. It looks like CAN 2025 is going to attract a sizable number of international visitors as well. Similarly, the Moroccan National Tourist Board (ONMT) has launched a marketing campaign to promote Morocco as a destination for both football and tourism while the tournament is on.

Lekjaa reckons that Morocco is planning to put on the best AFCON ever with its modern stadiums, improved transport and the latest digital tech for ticketing and fan management. The sales pace continues to fluctuate and all the logistics are in order. The 2025 edition is shaping up to be one of the most well-attended tournaments in the competition’s history.
