Rabat – Qatar and Tunisia meet in this crucial Group A matchup at the Arab Cup, with both sides under pressure to deliver a result.

Both Qatar and Tunisia enter their final Group A match in a do-or-die scenario: they must win to have any chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals. After a disappointing start in the first two matches, only a win can keep either team in the competition, a draw results in immediate double elimination.

A win would take either team to four points, but the job still wouldn’t be done . Qualification will also depend on goal difference and the outcome of the Palestine vs Syria match. In short, they must win to stay alive, but even three points won’t guarantee a spot in the knockout rounds.

Match details

Qatar team news

Qatar enter this match needing a response after their opening loss and draw in second match. Lopetegui has spoken about the need for sharper decision-making in the final third and better defensive concentration. Despite inconsistency, Qatar still control possession in long stretches and rely heavily on structured buildup through midfield.

Injuries: None reported.

Tactically: Qatar will try to dominate the ball, use their full-backs to overload wide areas, and apply sustained pressure. Their main challenge has been converting possession into clear chances.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Barsham, Waad, Laye, Al Hussain, Salman, Gaber, El Amin, Al Mannai, Hatem, Junior, Afif.

Tunisia team news

Tunisia are in a difficult position after taking just one point from their first two matches. The 2–2 draw against Palestine exposed defensive vulnerabilities, even though their attack showed potential in transitions. Coach Sami Trabelsi has urged his players to be more disciplined and efficient in key moments.

Injuries: none reported ahead of this match.

Tactically: Tunisia should adopt a compact formation, staying organized behind the ball and looking to break quickly. Their strength lies in fast counter-attacks and set-piece opportunities. Against Qatar’s possession-heavy style, Tunisia will have to stay patient, deny central spaces, and exploit gaps when Qatar push forward.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Dahmen, Maâloul, Meriah, Jelassi, Ben Ali, Sassi, Tka, Ben Romdhane, Gharbi, Layouni, Chaouat.

  • Score prediction: Qatar 0–2 Tunisia
