Marrakech – Raja Casablanca officially announced the signing of Jordanian international Mohamed Abu Zraiq, nicknamed “Sharara,” on Monday evening during the current winter transfer window.

The Green Eagles confirmed the free transfer through their social media accounts. Photos showed Abu Zraiq alongside club president Jawad Ziyat and sporting director Sébastien Somacal. The club posted the images with the caption “Sharara in Raja’s jersey” without revealing contract details.

The 27-year-old winger recently terminated his contract with Jordanian club Al-Ramtha after paying the release clause. This facilitated his move to the Moroccan championship as a free agent.

Abu Zraiq had established himself as one of Al-Ramtha’s standout players in recent years. His individual skills, leadership qualities, and fighting spirit on the field made him a prominent figure at the Jordanian club.

He hit the ground running in the first half of the season with Al-Ramtha, delivering a string of high-impact performances across all competitions.

Featuring in 10 matches, he found the net four times and added an assist, underlining his importance to the side and reaffirming his reputation as a decisive attacking force with genuine game-changing potential.

Al-Ramtha officially announced the mutual termination of their captain’s contract. Club president Khalid Samara described Abu Zraiq as one of the club’s loyal sons who contributed significantly both on and off the pitch. Samara wished the player success in his new professional journey with Raja.

The player expressed emotional attachment to Al-Ramtha in his farewell message. He stressed that the club would remain his first home and praised the unwavering support from the club’s loyal fans throughout various circumstances.

Raja currently sits fourth in the Botola Pro with 15 points from seven matches. The club trails five points behind traditional rivals Wydad Casablanca, who lead the table after eight games. This challenging league position has prompted Raja’s search for attacking reinforcements.

The signing represents Raja’s effort to strengthen their forward line and improve their offensive output. The club hopes Abu Zraiq will provide the attacking spark needed for the remainder of the season.

Raja supporters now anticipate Abu Zraiq’s quick adaptation to Moroccan football. They hope the Jordanian international will contribute to restoring the team’s attacking prowess and help improve their league standing during the second half of the season.
