Rabat – As part of a working visit to Morocco, a delegation from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) toured Moulay Hassan Stadium today to observe the country’s security arrangements for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The stadium hosted one of the tournament’s second-round matches.
During the visit, Moroccan authorities briefed the US delegation on the full security and public order protocols implemented by the Rabat police in coordination with the central services of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Officials explained measures taken to manage the flow of spectators from key transport routes and public transit hubs all the way to the stadium’s final security checkpoints, ensuring safe entry under optimal conditions.
The delegation was also shown Morocco’s extensive policing resources and logistical capabilities, including intervention vehicles, advanced camera surveillance systems, drones, and specialized units such as mounted police, canine teams, explosive detection squads, and riot control forces.
Members of the FBI expressed admiration for the advanced infrastructure Morocco deployed for the tournament and commended the precision and effectiveness of the security measures.
They noted how Moroccan authorities successfully balanced public safety with maintaining the festive and competitive atmosphere of the championship.
The FBI team, which is in Morocco from January 4 to 7, has been examining multiple aspects of the national security protocols, including arrangements for matches involving the Moroccan national team and the operation of the International Security Cooperation Center in Rabat.
The visit is part of a strategic effort to exchange expertise ahead of upcoming World Cup tournaments in 2026 and 2030.
