Marrakech – Moroccan property technology startup Yakeey has secured $15 million in Series A funding, marking the largest venture capital round ever completed by a proptech company in Morocco. The round was led by a consortium of international and local investors.
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, committed equity investment alongside Beltone Venture Capital, Enza Capital, and CDG Invest through its 212Founders program. The investment represents IFC’s first venture capital equity investment in Morocco’s digitizing real estate sector.
Founded in 2023 by entrepreneur Karim Beqqali, Yakeey operates as a managed property marketplace that asserts itself as a trusted intermediary in Morocco’s fragmented real estate market. The platform integrates property search, valuation, brokerage, and financing into a single digital infrastructure rather than functioning as a traditional listing portal.
The startup combines AI-driven pricing and verification technology with a network of over 2,000 on-ground advisors called YakeeyPRO, who physically inspect and certify properties. Nearly half of the 800+ independent agents in the network are women, according to company data.
Yakeey is Morocco’s sole provider of Instant Buying (iBuying), offering sellers guaranteed sales at transparent prices through direct purchase agreements with Umnia Bank. This service provides an alternative to traditional property sales processes.
“This fundraise enshrines the vision that has driven us since day one: making real estate accessible, transparent, and efficient for everyone, while empowering professionals in the sector,” said Karim Beqqali, Founder and CEO of Yakeey.
Beqqali stated the company’s infrastructure approach rather than portal multiplication. “In markets as dynamic as Morocco, the challenge is not to multiply real estate portals, but to build a genuine transactional infrastructure capable of bringing together transactions, financing, and data within a single technological ecosystem,” he explained.
‘Solid performances and ambitious plans’
The funding will support product development, platform scaling, and regional expansion as Yakeey seeks to modernize property transactions across Morocco and potentially expand beyond the local market. The company plans to deepen partnerships with financial institutions and strengthen its advisor network.
“As IFC’s first venture capital equity investment in Morocco, our partnership with Yakeey marks a milestone for our ambitions to support the country’s tech ecosystem,” said Farid Fezoua, Global Director for Private Equity and Venture Capital at IFC.
Fezoua described the investment’s broader impact potential. “By digitizing the real estate value chain and bringing together transactions, financing, and data on a single platform, Yakeey will expand access to housing and enable financing for households across the country,” he said.
Morocco’s real estate market offers strong growth potential but faces challenges, including fragmented services, financing bottlenecks, and limited price visibility. Yakeey addresses these issues by reducing information gaps and streamlining access to data and credit, which should lower transaction costs and expand formal housing finance access.
Ali Mokhtar, CEO of Beltone Venture Capital, expressed confidence in the company’s regional expansion plans. “Yakeey has demonstrated solid operational performance, and with its ambitious expansion plans, it is well positioned to become the leading Proptech company in the region and beyond,” he stated.
Nawfal Fassi Fihri, director of 212 Founders, affirmed support for the venture. “Through our commitment alongside Yakeey, we reaffirm our confidence in the ability of Moroccan tech to bring forth reference players on an international scale,” he said.
“We are proud to support a visionary team that works towards the modernization of a key economic sector, while promoting inclusion, professionalization, and sustainable value creation.”
Broadly, the investment indicates growing international interest in Morocco’s technology sector and proptech market specifically.
IFC has worked with public and private sector partners in Morocco for over 60 years and has invested and mobilized more than $2 billion in the country over the past two years to support sustainable economic development.
