Agadir – In a significant step toward deepening Moroccan-Italian relations, the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce in Italy (CCMI) and the Italian Federation of Vocational Training and Guidance Organizations, signed a memorandum of understanding at the CCMI headquarters in Via in Lucina, Rome.
The agreement reportedly marks the first agreement for CCMI since it was inaugurated in November 2025, serving as “a strategic bridge” between companies and business leaders in the two countries, oriented toward promoting bilateral trade and economic exchanges, as outlined by CCMI President Marouan El Mansoub at the time.
The new agreement aims to foster long-term collaboration in economic, educational, social, and cultural development between the two countries and across the broader Mediterranean region.
According to the stakeholders, the memorandum reflects a shared commitment to leveraging expertise, networks, and projects to strengthen dialogue between Morocco and Italy.
Focus areas of the agreement
The agreement outlines a comprehensive framework for cooperation in multiple areas.
It seeks to strengthen economic, cultural, and tourism relations by promoting trade, investment, and cultural exchange, while organizing events, trade fairs, institutional meetings, and awards that bring stakeholders from both countries together.
A central focus is placed on training, skills development, and certification, with programs designed to align vocational education with labor market needs and to address emerging professions.
The partnership also emphasizes on developing joint projects that strengthen economic cooperation between Morocco and Italy while expanding opportunities across the Mediterranean region.
It aims to help businesses enter new markets, encourage innovation in key sectors, and support companies seeking to grow beyond their national borders.
Companies will benefit from support services and professional placement initiatives, including assistance in human resource development, recruitment, and integration.
Finally, cultural diplomacy is a key component of the collaboration, with activities designed to promote mutual understanding and integration, using cultural exchange as a bridge between societies.
Leaders highlight the importance of the collaboration
Speaking at the signing, Marouan El Mansoub, President of CCMI, emphasized the strategic value of the agreement stating that “this memorandum of understanding marks an important step in the dialogue between the public and private sectors of the Kingdom of Morocco and Italy,” as cited by local Italian media outlet Stampa Parlamento.
He further explained the importance of training saying that it is “a key driver of economic growth in a constantly evolving market that severely challenges companies’ management and recruitment of human resources.”
“This structured collaboration will provide significant added value and, above all, solutions to address the obstacles holding back businesses and investors,” he added.
In her part, Laura Mazza, President of Federformazione Italia, underlined the broader vision of the partnership expressing that it “is part of a shared vision that recognizes the Mediterranean as a strategic space for cooperation, opportunities, and shared responsibilities.”
“Through this agreement, CCMI and Federformazione Italia intend to actively contribute to building bridges between economic, educational, and cultural systems, fostering a development model based on merit, quality skills, and collaboration between institutions, businesses, and civil society,” she concluded.
Morocco-Italy ties
The agreement comes at a time when Morocco-Italy ties are on the rise. In an exclusive September 2025 interview with Morocco World News (MWN), Italian Ambassador Pasquale Salzano said that “Italy and Morocco share the ambition of making the wider Mediterranean a space of stability, cooperation, and innovation.”
The two countries celebrated the bicentennial anniversary last year, which the ambassador described as “an invitation to reflect not only on two centuries of diplomatic relations, but also on the horizon we wish to shape together.”
This recent pact between CCMI and Italian Federation of Vocational Training and Guidance Organizations continues this momentum, establishing a practical partnership between the two countries linking vocational training, business support, and cultural diplomacy to address economic and social challenges.
