Rabat – A general strike in Brussels led to the cancellation of Royal Air Maroc (RAM) flights connecting Casablanca and Marrakech to the European destination
Royal Air Maroc posted on X that flights AT832 and AT833 connecting between Casablanca and Brussels scheduled for March 12 are canceled.
The same date will see the cancellation of flights AT636 and AT637 linking Marrakech and Brussels.
Royal Air Maroc said it has several operations to minimize the impact of the cancellation, including free rebooking within 15 days of the cancelled flight date to and from Brussels National Airport.
Other options available also include free rebooking within three days of the canceled flight date to and from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport or full refund of the ticket via the original form of payment.
Passengers affected by the canceled flights are advised not to go to the airport and instead contact their original point of sale or RAM contact centers to check on options available.
Reports said three union federations called for a 24-hour general strike on Thursday; affecting the aviation sector.
The protest is aimed at federal welfare reforms.
The Brussels Times reported today that public transport across Belgium will be disrupted for four consecutive days this week, citing a three day railway strike.
“Monday (today) is the first of three days of rail strikes, but the impact is expected to be limited. Seven in ten IC trains (between bigger cities) will run, as will half of the L (local) and S (suburban) trains,” the news outlet said.
