Rabat—Today, Real Betis gave a heartfelt tribute to Moroccan internationals Abdessamad Ezzalzouli and Sofyan Amrabat. During training, the squad formed a traditional Spanish “pasillo”—a guard of honor-to celebrate Morocco’s official victory at the 2025 AFCON.
The moment was touching and showed the pride of their teammates and the recognition of the Moroccan players’ achievements on the international stage.
This celebration followed a historic decision by the CAF yesterday, which officially declared Morocco the winner of the tournament with a 3-0 score awarded off the pitch.

Important Moroccan players at Betis
Real Betis made sure to honor its representatives among the newly crowned African champions.
Abdessamad Ezzalzouli is having one of the best seasons of his career. An important attacking option for coach Pellegrini, he has scored 9 goals and provided 6 assists in over 25 appearances across all competitions.
In La Liga alone, he has 5 goals and 4 assists in 15 matches, earning a nomination for Player of the Month in February. A standout moment came against Deportivo Alavés in January 2026, when he scored the only goal of the match.
His performances have attracted attention from top clubs, including FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, with Betis reportedly setting his price around €40 million.
Sofyan Amrabat on the other hand (on loan from Fenerbahçe since September 2025) made a strong early impression, quickly becoming a midfield pillar last year. However, his season was disrupted by a right ankle cartilage injury requiring surgery. He has only been in 11 official matches this season
Though one is in peak form and the other is recovering from injury, both players embody Morocco’s win and the growing presence of Moroccan talent in European football.
