Fez — Bahrain has announced Friday, March 20, as the start of Eid Al-Fitr 2026, with official state calendars and holiday circulars now reflecting the kingdom’s Eid schedule.
The Bahrain News Agency announced that the crescent was not successfully observed this evening, which means it will be visible tomorrow, making Friday, March 20, the first day of Eid.
The confirmation means Bahrain has completed 30 days of fasting this year, with Eid now set to begin on Friday across the kingdom.
The Central Bank of Bahrain’s official bank holidays page lists March 20, 21, and 22 as Eid Al Fitr 1447 holidays. Another circular issued by Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister confirms that ministries and public institutions will close for the day of Eid Al-Fitr and the two days that follow, reinforcing the official state recognition of the holiday period.
The announcement signals the end of Ramadan in Bahrain and sets the date for Eid prayers and family celebrations across the kingdom. As in other Muslim-majority countries, Eid Al Fitr in Bahrain is typically marked by morning prayers in mosques and open prayer grounds, visits between relatives, and acts of charity tied to the spirit of the holy month.
Bahrain’s official holiday listings are important because they guide not only public institutions, but also business planning, travel schedules, and the timing of Eid gatherings. With March 20 now identified as the opening day of the holiday, families and institutions across the country are adjusting around a Friday start.
The confirmation also places Bahrain alongside other countries entering Eid at the end of this week. For worshippers, the shift now is from the final fasts of Ramadan to a holiday defined by prayer, reunion, and celebration after a month of discipline and reflection.
