Rabat – In Rabat, the British Council Morocco marked a significant step forward in English language education with a ceremony celebrating the success of its English for Teaching (EfT) hybrid training program.

Held in the presence of the UK Ambassador to Morocco and senior officials from the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, the event honored English teachers from both Rabat and Casablanca.

The ceremony was part of a nationwide series spanning eight regions, collectively recognizing the achievements of more than 300 teachers who have completed the programme.

These events underscore the growing impact of the EfT initiative in strengthening teaching quality and elevating English language instruction across Morocco.

Developed through a strategic partnership between the British Council and the Ministry, the EfT program focuses on enhancing teachers’ pedagogical skills and confidence through practical, classroom-centered training.

Its hybrid format allows educators to improve both their English proficiency and their ability to deliver more engaging and effective lessons.

As Morocco continues to advance its education reform agenda, programmes like EfT are playing a key role in equipping teachers with modern methodologies and tools.

Strengthening UK–Morocco education ties

This milestone also reflects deepening cooperation between Morocco and the United Kingdom in the education sector.

The British Council and the Ministry recently formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Rabat, in the presence of high-level officials from both countries.

The agreement reinforces joint efforts in English language education, teacher professional development, and educational innovation.

It also promotes the exchange of expertise and the creation of professional networks, aiming to deliver sustainable, high-impact programmes for educators and learners across the country.

Through this strengthened partnership, both sides reaffirm their commitment to improving teaching standards, expanding opportunities, and fostering a more globally connected education system in Morocco.
