Morocco’s U15 boys’ team will take on Senegal in the semi-finals of the CAF African Schools Football Championship on Thursday, April 9, at Gateway High School in Harare, Zimbabwe. A place in the continental final will be on the line.

Morocco reached the last four after a solid group-stage campaign in Group A, finishing second with six points.

The young Moroccan side made a strong start to the tournament with a commanding 6–1 win over DR Congo in the opening match.

They followed that with a 2-1 victory against hosts Zimbabwe, putting themselves in a strong position ahead of the final group game.

Morocco then suffered a 3-0 defeat to Uganda, a result that saw them finish second in the group and secure a place in the semi-finals.

Senegal, meanwhile, advanced as winners of Group B with seven points.

The Senegalese team impressed during the group stage, notably beating Tanzania 3-2 and drawing 1-1 with Zambia to finish top of the table.

Thursday’s match is expected to be one of the most anticipated fixtures of the tournament, with both sides looking to book their spot in the final.

The other semi-final will see Uganda face Benin, with the two winners set to meet in the title match later in the competition.

The tournament, being held in Harare from April 6 to 10, has brought together some of the continent’s best young school teams in the under-15 category.

Morocco came into the competition as one of the strongest teams from North Africa after qualifying through the UNAF zonal tournament.

The team has already shown its attacking strength, particularly in the opening match against DR Congo, where it scored six goals.

Facing Senegal will be a tougher test, however, against a side that topped its group and arrives with momentum.

With a place in the final at stake, Thursday’s clash promises to be a closely contested encounter between two teams that have performed well throughout the tournament.

Morocco now has to overcome Senegal and move one step away from the continental title.
