Royal Road Minerals, a mining exploration company headquartered in Jersey, has announced positive drilling results and ongoing strategic developments at its Lalla Aziza copper project in Morocco’s Western High Atlas.

Located about 90 kilometers southwest of Marrakesh, the underground Lalla Aziza mine is owned and operated by Carbomine. Royal Road secured an option agreement to acquire 100% of the mining license in December 2024.

The company recently completed a 15-hole, 1,000-meter reverse circulation scout drilling campaign that confirmed copper mineralization within the Seksaoua shear zone, a region known for hosting historically mined copper and gold deposits.

Key drill results show consistent and potentially economically viable copper grades. Highlights include 17 meters at 1.3% copper in hole RC25LA004, 19 meters at 1.1% copper in RC25LA002, and 31 meters at 0.7% copper in RC25LA007. Several other intersections returned grades between 0.7% and 1.1%, indicating strong mineral continuity across the structure.

The company said these results confirm that copper mineralization extends across the width of the structure and remains open along strike and at depth. While this suggests further exploration potential, Royal Road noted that true widths of the intersections have not yet been determined.

Despite the promising results, Royal Road reported delays in advancing the license transfer due to corporate matters affecting the current license holder. These issues are progressing through appropriate channels, it said.

In parallel, the company has signed a confidentiality agreement granting exclusivity over a neighboring mining title within the same structural corridor. It has also engaged SCP Resource Finance to evaluate and structure potential transaction pathways, including the consolidation of multiple licenses along the Seksaoua structure into a single project.

Depending on the outcome, Royal Road said it will consider strategic options such as advancing the project in a capital-efficient manner or pursuing transactions designed to maximize value.
