Agadir – Mediterrania Capital Partners (MCP), a private equity firm focused on growth investments across Africa, has signed a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire 100% of Société Marocaine des Manufactures de Mohammedia (SMMM), the holding company of Amcor Flexibles Mohammedia (AFM), from Amcor Group.

Amcor Flexibles Mohammedia is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions. The company primarily serves the dairy sector, while also supplying the pharmaceutical, food, and home and personal care industries.

According to MCP, the acquisition aligns with its strategy of investing in mid-sized market leaders across Africa and supporting their next phase of development.

“AFM represents a solid industrial platform in a resilient sector, with opportunities to further expand its product offering and customer base,” said Albert Alsina, Founder and CEO of MCP. “This acquisition reflects our firm’s strategy of investing in market-leading mid-sized companies across Africa and supporting their next phase of growth.”

MCP also acknowledged the development achieved under Amcor’s ownership, highlighting improvements in operational excellence, industrial capabilities, and market positioning.

“This new chapter with MCP is an opportunity to build on that momentum, continuing a strong safety culture and a clear focus on customers,” said Mustapha Adiane, Plant General Manager of AFM.

MCP emphasized that the transition will be managed responsibly, with a strong focus on continuity for employees, customers, suppliers, and partners. The private equity firm plans to work closely with AFM’s existing management team.

The strategy includes maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and customer service, while supporting growth through targeted investments, operational improvements, and strengthened governance.

Looking ahead, MCP aims to position AFM as a leading flexible packaging platform in Morocco and beyond. The firm intends to expand production capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and diversify the company’s product portfolio and client base.

“Together with AFM’s management, we will focus on expanding the company’s production capabilities, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the diversification of its product portfolio and client base,” said Hatim Ben Ahmed, Managing Partner at MCP.
