Rabat – Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan announced on Saturday that a hamstring injury suffered in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace will sideline Mohamed Salah for the rest of the season.

After announcing his departure from the club last month, the 33-year-old may have made his last appearance for Liverpool.

Speaking to Reuters Hassan stated: “He has suffered a hamstring tear and will require four weeks of treatment,”

Salah concludes his final season at Anfield with 12 goals and 9 assists across 39 appearances in all competitions. In the Premier League, the Egyptian winger contributed 7 goals and 6 assists, playing a key role in keeping Liverpool at the top of the table before his campaign was cut short.

The Egyptian forward has positioned himself among the greatest in Liverpool’s history, winning two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the FA Community Shield.

Since he arrived from Roma in 2017, Salah has made a total of 435 appearances, scoring more than 255 goals across all competitions, ranking him Liverpool’s third-highest goal-scorer of all time.

According to Reuters, Salah will be fit for the 2026 World Cup, where Egypt is set to play Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran in Group G. The forward is focused on a full recovery before the June 11 kickoff in North America.

Liverpool will conclude their season with away games against Manchester United on May 3 and Aston Villa on May 17, alongside home matches against Chelsea on May 9 and Brentford on May 24.
