Ittihad Tanger have strongly condemned an attack on their team bus following their Botola Pro match against Olympique Safi, calling for an urgent investigation and firm action from the authorities after members of the technical staff were injured.
Club reaction and demands
Ittihad described the incident as unacceptable and completely against the values of sport. The club stressed that violence of this kind damages Moroccan football and puts players and staff at real risk during away travel.
More importantly, the club has officially demanded an urgent investigation to identify those responsible and ensure that such incidents do not happen again.
On the pitch, the club had actually come from behind to win 2–1, scoring late to secure three important points in their Botola campaign. This result raised their total to 17 points, placing them tenth in the standings.
Incidents involving crowd trouble and violence around matches have been a recurring concern in Moroccan football in recent seasons, with authorities already under pressure to tighten security measures.
This latest case adds to that discussion and what happens, or rather what should happen, after it.
For Ittihad Tanger, the priority is now to protect players and staff, and ensure accountability. The club expects a formal investigation and stronger safeguards for future away fixtures as the Botola season continues.
