Rabat – Achraf Hakimi will be in Munich tomorrow night to support his teammates against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash.
Despite being sidelined by a right thigh injury, the 27-year-old has opted to travel with the squad alongside teammates Lucas Chevalier and Quentin Ndjantou to provide support during the highly anticipated clash.
Hakimi sustained a right thigh injury during the final minutes of the first leg against Bayern Munich, forcing him to finish the match in pain following a collision with Konrad Laimer. Medical tests later confirmed a muscle tear, ruling the Moroccan right-back out of the second leg in Munich.
His absence has sparked concern in Paris, as he has been an indispensable part of the squad this season with a remarkable record of 11 goals and 16 assists across 55 appearances.
During the pre-match press conference, Luis Enrique highlighted the significance of having Hakimi, Chevalier, and Ndjantou join the traveling squad despite their injuries. “They will be there at the stadium to support the team and try to experience this match with us,” Enrique said.
He further explained that the initiative came directly from the players themselves, who were determined to remain close to the squad during an important moment in the season. “They asked to be there… For us, this shows the quality of players we have,” he said.
The match will take place tomorrow at 8:00 PM at the Allianz Arena, with PSG entering the game holding a thin lead after winning the first leg 5-4 at the Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris.
