Rabat – Morocco’s U17 national team has officially revealed its final squad for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), taking place in Morocco from May 13 to June 2.
Head coach Thiago Lima Pereira has selected a 26-player group as the young Atlas Lions prepare for a major continental challenge on home soil.
The tournament has extra importance since qualification for the FIFA U17 World Cup is on the line for teams that progress through the competition. The eight teams reaching the quarter-finals will automatically secure their place at that global event.

Goalkeepers and defenders, midfielders and forwards are all included in a balanced list that reflects Morocco’s growing depth at the youth level. The selected players are:
Adam El Maach, Ayman Tahiri, Mehdi Amhamoul, Adam Soudi, Mohamed Habib Zainabi, Marouane Bentaleb, Ismaïl El Aoud, Walid Ibn Salah, Rami Loukmani, Ilian Hadidi, Adam Boughazir, Mohamed Harouch, Adam El Lakki, Adam Aloui, Hamza Ech Challali, Omran Et Talaï, Ibrahim Rabbaj, Rayan El Khadraoui, Adnan El Boujofi, Yahya Essaïdi, Mohamed Amine Moustach, Rayan Yaâkoubi, Waël Jassim Joullisan, Ibrahim Faïq, Luis Fillies, and Ayman Ez Zarkiy.
Playing at home adds pressure but gives motivation for this group. Morocco enters the competition as the favorite and defending 2025 champion.
Tickets officially went on sale through the WeBook platform, with the first phase covering matches at Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat , including Morocco’s opening game.
Prices have been set at MAD 30 for Category 1 and MAD 20 for Category 2, prices that should encourage strong attendance throughout the competition.
Morocco has been drawn into Group A alongside Tunisia, Egypt, and Ethiopia , a competitive group that will immediately test the hosts’ ambitions.
The opening match will take place on Wednesday, May 13, when Morocco face Tunisia at Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium.
