Rabat – Moroccan international Ismael Saibari has been named winner of the VP Award 2026, given by Dutch outlet VoetbalPrimeur to the best player in the Eredivisie.
The PSV Eindhoven midfielder topped the vote, which included both fans and the editorial board.
Speaking after the announcement, Saibari expressed his joy at the recognition but stressed that his ambitions remain high.
In a long interview, he said the “circle is not yet complete” at PSV, underlining his desire to achieve more with the club.
The award caps a standout season for the 23‑year‑old. Saibari was one of PSV’s most influential players, driving their domestic success and earning widespread praise across the Netherlands.
His attacking contributions were decisive: 15 goals and 8 assists in 26 league matches, meaning he directly contributed to 23 goals.
His consistency and creativity made him a central figure in PSV’s title defense, and his performances drew admiration from analysts and supporters alike.
