Fez – The Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat is once again preparing to welcome some of the biggest names in world golf as Morocco hosts the 50th edition of the Hassan II Trophy and the 29th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup from May 18 to 24.

The Hassan II Trophy is celebrating its Golden Jubilee, marking five decades since the late King Hassan II founded the competition in 1971 with the ambition of placing Morocco on the global golf map.

Over the years, the tournament has grown into one of the country’s most respected international sporting events.

Today, it stands as a major stop on the PGA TOUR Champions calendar, bringing together some of the sport’s most recognized figures on the iconic Red Course of Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

This year, 66 golf legends from the PGA TOUR Champions are expected in Rabat, including players with major titles and long international careers.

The event also follows last year’s memorable victory by Spanish golfer Miguel Ángel Jiménez, whose performance reinforced the tournament’s reputation for high-level competition and prestige.

Alongside the men’s event, the Lalla Meryem Cup will continue Morocco’s long-standing tradition of hosting men’s and women’s tournaments side by side at the same venue.

Founded in 1993 by the late King Hassan II, the competition has become one of the important stops on the Ladies European Tour calendar.

Played on the Blue Course, the tournament will bring together 132 professional golfers while also giving Moroccan talents an important international platform on home soil.

This year’s edition also places strong attention on youth development and public engagement.

One of the highlights will be the “Pro-Am Hassan II Kids Cup by First Tee,” which will connect children from the First Tee Morocco program with professional players through learning sessions and friendly activities on the Green Course.

The tournament is also opening its doors wider to the public with free access throughout the week.

Organizers have introduced dedicated parking areas and free shuttle services to make the experience easier for visitors and families attending the event.

Another major attraction will be the “Challenge Troy and Ben,” an exhibition bringing together golf content creator Ben Kruper and long-drive specialist Troy Mullins.

Scheduled for May 19, the show promises interactive demonstrations and entertainment designed to make golf more accessible and engaging for younger audiences.

Throughout the week, visitors will also be able to explore walking trails around the venue, entertainment spaces, training areas for beginners, food courts, and live demonstrations offering a closer look at professional golf.

This anniversary edition reflects Morocco’s growing place in international golf while turning the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam into a space where sport, culture, and community merge.
