Rabat – There has been a scheduling change ahead of Morocco’s U17 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) quarterfinal, with the Atlas Cubs now set to play earlier than initially planned.
The quarterfinal between Morocco and Cameroon has officially been brought forward to 5 p.m. Moroccan time instead of the original 8 p.m. kickoff, after the change was approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The match will still be played on Sunday, May 24, at Pitch no.8 of the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora. Only the kickoff time has changed.
The adjustment was made to avoid a scheduling clash later in the evening. At 8 p.m., attention in Moroccan football will turn toward the second leg of the CAF Champions League final, where Morocco’s AS FAR faces Mamelodi Sundowns.
Rather than overlap the two events, organizers opted to move Morocco’s U17 fixture earlier in the day, allowing Moroccan fans to follow both games.
The timing may have changed, but the stakes remain exactly the same.
