Rabat – Paris mayor Emmanuel Grégoire has confirmed that selling the Parc des Princes to Paris Saint‑Germain is now the preferred option for the city.
Speaking to BFM TV, Grégoire said the priority is to keep PSG in their historic home.
He explained that talks with the club have already started discreetly and that the aim is to secure a deal allowing PSG to invest heavily in upgrading the stadium.
“My priority choice is to sell to the club, provided they commit significant funds to make the stadium match their sporting ambitions,” Grégoire said. He stressed that keeping PSG at the Parc des Princes is a central goal for both sides.
The mayor noted that the sale would give PSG full control of the venue, enabling them to modernize facilities and expand infrastructure.
He added that the city’s willingness to sell marks a shift in relations with the club, after months of uncertainty about whether PSG might move to a new stadium.
Grégoire believes the deal would benefit both parties: the city would secure investment in a major sports landmark, while PSG would gain the freedom to develop the Parc des Princes into a venue that reflects their global status.
The mayor also said that the sale depends on PSG’s ability to commit large‑scale investment.
Without that, the project would not move forward. But he insisted that the intention is to keep the club in its current home rather than see it relocate.
PSG have long pushed for greater control of the Parc des Princes, arguing that ownership is essential to match their ambitions in Europe and beyond.
The club has invested heavily in its squad and facilities in recent years, and securing the stadium would be another step in strengthening its position as one of the continent’s leading teams.
