Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi spoke about the upcoming clash between Morocco and Brazil in the 2026 World Cup Group C opener.
The match will be special as Hakimi will face his Paris Saint-Germain teammate and Seleção defender Marquinhos.
Hakimi said in the pre-match press conference: “With Marquinhos, these past few days we haven’t talked much; everyone is focused on their own team.”
The Moroccan star added that the good relationship he shares with the Paris Saint-Germain defender does not affect the competition on the pitch, and winning remains the primary purpose.
“It’s true that in Paris we laugh together, but on the pitch each one of us wants to win, and may the best win,” Hakimi added.
All eyes are set on the highly anticipated Morocco-Brazil clash with both teams coming with big expectations and a strong determination to start well and take control of Group C.
The clash is widely considered one of the most sought-after matches in the group stage.
