Mohamed Ouahbi’s team enters the match with four points after drawing 1-1 with Brazil in its opening fixture and defeating Scotland 1-0 in the second round.

Morocco currently sits second in Group C, level on points with Brazil but behind the five-time world champions on goal difference.

A victory over Haiti would confirm Morocco’s place in the round of 32. It could also allow the Atlas Lions to finish top of the group, depending on the result of the Brazil-Scotland match.

Final preparations in atlanta

Morocco’s pre-match press conference and final training session are scheduled to take place on Tuesday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Ouahbi is expected to provide an update on his squad and discuss his plans for a Haiti team that has already been eliminated from the competition.

Despite Haiti’s position, Morocco is unlikely to underestimate its opponent.

Haiti narrowly lost 1-0 to Scotland in its opening match before suffering a 3-0 defeat against Brazil.

The team has yet to score at the tournament but showed defensive organization for long periods in both matches.

Ouahbi has already stressed the importance of continued improvement after Morocco’s victory against Scotland.

The coach said his players showed more attacking intent than they did against Brazil but still needed to become more effective in front of goal.

First place still within reach

Brazil currently leads Group C because of its stronger goal difference.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side followed its draw with Morocco by defeating Haiti 3-0, while Morocco’s only victory came by a one-goal margin against Scotland.

The Atlas Lions may therefore need a convincing win against Haiti if Brazil also defeats Scotland.

Finishing first could provide Morocco with a more favorable route in the knockout stage, although the final opponent will depend on the standings in Group F.

However, Ouahbi’s immediate priority will be securing the result needed to complete an unbeaten group campaign.

Morocco build confidence

Morocco has produced two disciplined performances so far.

The Atlas Lions competed strongly against Brazil and controlled most of their match against Scotland, with Ismael Saibari scoring the winning goal after only 71 seconds.

Morocco’s defence has also remained solid, conceding only once in two matches.

The Haiti fixture now allows the team to improve its attacking efficiency before the knockout rounds.

With qualification and first place both at stake, Morocco will aim to finish the group stage with its strongest performance of the tournament.
