Rabat – After Haiti’s strong performance against Morocco, goalkeeper Johnny Placide said he was proud of his teammates for what they achieved in the final Group C match.
The veteran goalkeeper praised the team’s effort, determination, and fighting spirit throughout the game, saying he feels he has fulfilled his mission with Haiti. Having joined the national team in 2011, his dream was always to help his country reach the World Cup.
While he would have preferred to achieve that goal sooner, the 38-year-old said he is grateful it finally became a reality, believing it is better late than never.
“It is a great source of pride for me, and a great source of pride for the Haitian people. During this competition, I am very proud of what we have shown,” he said.
“Despite the results, we presented a good image. We saw that Haitian football is full of talent, and we have nothing to be ashamed of. Now, we must maintain the positives for the future, because there are beautiful things to come.”
