Casablanca – Moroccan animation is set to gain global visibility as French-language broadcaster TV5MONDE has invested €1 million in a project that will bring eight Moroccan animated series to international audiences.

According to a press release from TV5MONDE, the investment is part of a partnership between Moroccan creators and French institutions aimed at strengthening French-language animation production in the Kingdom.

The initiative also reflects TV5MONDE’s growing investment in children’s programming.

After supporting animation studios in several Sub-Saharan African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire and Madagascar, the broadcaster has now expanded its efforts to Morocco through an exceptional grant from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

The €1 million investment will support the production of nearly ten original educational animated series, all created in French and designed to introduce younger generations to the shared values of the Francophone world.

As part of the initiative, TV5MONDE partnered with two Moroccan animation studios recognized for their contribution to the country’s creative industry.

One of them is Neverseen Productions. Founded by Yassine Lahrichi, its productions focus on characters and stories inspired by the everyday lives of young audiences.

The second is Art’coustic Studiosa studio. It is led by Ali Rguigue and known for producing works rooted in Morocco’s cultural heritage and historical narratives.

Eight animated series produced through this partnership are currently in the final stages of production and are expected to premiere over the coming months.

The productions will be distributed worldwide through TV5MONDE’s general entertainment channel, its youth channel TiVi5MONDE, and the streaming platform TV5MONDE+, allowing international audiences to discover Moroccan stories and characters.

Beyond entertainment, the project aims to introduce younger viewers to the cultural heritage of the Maghreb while highlighting the region’s place within the wider Francophone community.

With Morocco now joining that network of supported creators, the initiative represents another step toward expanding the country’s animation industry while offering local studios greater international exposure.
