Marrakech – Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Princess Lalla Salma, and Princess Lalla Khadija arrived on the Italian island of Capri on the evening of July 1 for a summer vacation.
The members of the royal family disembarked at the port of Marina Grande aboard the Polaris, a fast vessel from the Italian shipping company SNAV, chartered for the occasion. Capri Mayor Paolo Falco, wearing his tricolor mayoral sash, was on the quay to personally welcome the royals alongside local police and security forces.
The Crown Prince appeared in formal attire, while Lalla Salma wore a long yellow dress, a large straw hat, and carried a Hermès Kelly bag. Princess Lalla Khadija stood at her mother’s side.

The mayor exchanged a brief word in English with Prince Moulay El Hassan before the family and their entourage departed the port area. A convoy of security vehicles and minivans escorted them to private villas rented across the island for their stay.
Italy’s Ambassador to Morocco, Pasquale Salzano, posted a public welcome on social media. “Welcome to Italy to HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Princess Lalla Salma, and HRH Princess Lalla Khadija. Enjoy your stay in Capri,” the diplomat wrote.
No official program is scheduled during the visit. The trip is strictly a family vacation, according to local Italian media reports.
The port of Marina Grande was locked down ahead of the arrival. An extensive security apparatus has been deployed on the island, with six vehicles permanently at the family’s disposal. The municipality of Capri confirmed it has placed its full logistical resources at the disposal of the royal guests.
The appearance in Capri marks one of Lalla Salma’s increasingly rare public outings. The princess has largely remained out of public view in recent years, making the Capri arrival a notable moment captured in videos taken at the port.
