Rabat – Brazil’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, confirmed that he has no plans to retire despite the Seleção’s shock exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“I don’t think this is the end; I think this is the start of a new cycle,” Ancelotti said at a press conference.
Two goals from Erling Haaland secured Norway a place in the quarterfinals and sent Brazil home. “Being knocked out of a World Cup is always a huge blow,” Ancelotti admitted.
“I am very much used to this; we will use it as fuel going forward,” Ancelotti added, emphasizing his future with the Brazilian national team.
Ancelotti promised supporters that he would work harder, stressing that their exit at the hands of Norway must be seen as the beginning of a new era in Brazilian football.
Brazil started its 2026 World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Morocco, then beat Scotland 3-0 and Haiti 3-0 to remain top of the group.
The five-time world champions defeated Japan 2-1 in the round of 32 at Houston Stadium, only to lose their last game against Norway 2-1 at MetLife Stadium.
