Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports announced that the overall pass rate for the 2026 national baccalaureate exams reached 81.6%, after combining the results of both the regular and resit sessions.

According to the ministry, 337,192 students successfully earned their baccalaureate certificate this year.

A total of 64,586 students passed the resit session, which recorded an attendance rate of 86%.

Female students continued to outperform their male peers. The pass rate among girls reached 84.5% of those who attended the exams, compared to 78.6% for boys.

For private candidates, 31,034 passed the exams across both sessions, representing a success rate of 54.5%. Of those, 9,549 passed during the resit session.

The ministry said the 2026 examination process took place in an atmosphere of discipline and responsibility, thanks to the efforts of teachers, education staff, and all those involved in organizing the exams.

It also highlighted the measures taken to protect the credibility of the baccalaureate certificate and ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.

This year’s baccalaureate exams saw tighter anti-cheating measures across the country. During the regular session, authorities detected more than 4,100 cases of cheating, while nearly 5,000 cheating cases were recorded during the regional first-year baccalaureate exams.

Officials said the higher figures reflected stronger detection efforts rather than an increase in cheating.

To strengthen exam security, the ministry rolled out around 2,000 Moroccan-made T3 Shield devices in examination centers nationwide.

Developed by Moroccan startup SensThings, the portable devices detect hidden mobile phone, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth signals, helping invigilators identify attempts to use electronic devices during exams.
