Agadir – Moroccan airports handled a total of 18.8 million passengers between January and June 2026, representing an 8.83% increase compared with the same period in 2025, according to the National Airport Office’s (ONDA) latest statistics on commercial air traffic.
International traffic accounted for the vast majority of passenger flows, reaching 16,835,752 travelers, up 8.86% year-on-year, while national traffic rose by 8.6% to 1,995,709 passengers.
Among Morocco’s main airports, Mohammed V International Airport recorded the highest passenger volume, with 5,756,388 travelers, marking a 10.13% increase compared with the first six months of 2025.
It was followed by Marrakech Menara Airport, which handled 5,636,776 passengers, Agadir-Al Massira Airport with 1,878,974 passengers, Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport with 1,402,756 passengers, and Rabat-Sale Airport with 1,217,574 passengers.
European market drives international growth
The European market remained the main contributor to Morocco’s international air traffic growth, accounting for more than 14 million passengers during the first half of the year, up 9% year-on-year.
Other international markets also recorded notable increases. Traffic with South America grew by 34.31%, reaching 53,807 passengers, while African markets rose by 15.23% to 971,193 passengers.
North American traffic also posted strong growth, increasing by 15.46% to 461,695 passengers. Meanwhile, air traffic linking Morocco with Maghreb countries climbed by 11% to 244,069 passengers.
In contrast, traffic with the Middle and Far East declined by 5.66%, reaching 1,044,129 passengers over the January-June period.
Aircraft movements and air freight continue to rise
Moroccan airports recorded 138,353 aircraft movements during the first six months of 2026, up 9.65% compared with the same period last year.
Casablanca Mohammed V Airport led in aircraft movements with 45,824 operations, followed by Marrakech-Menara Airport with 36,795 movements and Agadir-Al Massira Airport with 12,962 movements.
Air freight activity also maintained its upward trend, reaching 57,828.11 tons during the first half of 2026, representing a 12.3% year-on-year increase.
In June alone, Morocco’s airports welcomed 3,116,576 passengers, marking a 5.83% increase compared with June 2025, according to ONDA.
