Casablanca – Liverpool are closing in on tying down Dominik Szoboszlai to a new long-term contract, with the Hungarian midfielder set to commit his future to the Reds after reaching a verbal agreement, extending his stay at Anfield until June 2031.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, an agreement is already in place between Liverpool and Szoboszlai. Only a few final details remain to be finalized before the club makes an official announcement, Romano stressed.
The 25-year-old is fully committed to Liverpool’s new project under manager Andoni Iraola, as he has no intention of leaving Anfield in the near future.
Szoboszlai is currently under contract until summer 2028, but Liverpool have moved quickly to extend his stay, reflecting the club’s belief in his long-term value.
The Hungary international joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in summer 2023 and has since established himself as a key figure in the Reds’ midfield, contributing to the 2024-2025 Premier League before producing in 2025-26 one of his best individual seasons since arriving at Anfield.
