Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s national carrier, is set to receive a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner as part of its plan to expand its fleet.
Moroccan news outlet Le360 quoted a source who said the airline will receive the new aircraft by the end of July, bringing its total fleet to 68.
“RAM plans to continue taking delivery of new aircraft in the short and medium term. Its fleet is expected to grow to 74 aircraft by the end of 2026 and 88 by 2027,” the report said.
This comes as Royal Air Maroc is launching 20 new direct routes to connect Morocco with several international destinations, including Saint Petersburg, Los Angeles, and Manchester, among others.
The report quoted Oussama El Farisi, the airline’s Head of Engineering, who previously confirmed that Royal Air Maroc’s development plan calls for the “integration of an average of 10 to 15 aircraft per year.”
Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou recently reiterated the company’s commitment to continuing the expansion program to reinforce its role as a “strategic hub for Morocco.”
Addou made his remarks in a statement the airline issued to announce its summer season program, pledging 8.2 million seats of capacity.
RAM said that its program for this summer will serve 86 international destinations across Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East, with around 67 aircraft operating the airline’s network.
“With a record capacity and a modern, expanded fleet, we are reinforcing our role as a strategic hub for Morocco while serving our diasporas around the world,” Addou added.
He emphasized that the airline’s priority remains the customer experience at every stage of the journey, pointing to newer aircraft, optimized connections, and “continuous attention to passenger comfort.”
