Casablanca – AC Milan are reportedly exploring the possibility of re-signing Moroccan international Brahim Diaz as the Italian giants continue to reshape their squad during the summer transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have identified Diaz as one of several attacking midfielders under consideration as they seek to add more creativity, pace, and one-on-one quality to their frontline.
The report claims that head coach Ruben Amorim has requested the signing of an attacking midfielder capable of injecting greater dynamism into Milan’s attacking play, with Diaz emerging as one of the profiles the club’s recruitment team is considering.
Diaz’s future at Real Madrid remains uncertain despite his contributions last season. According to Calciomercato, the Moroccan playmaker could be allowed to leave the Spanish club this summer if head coach José Mourinho opts to rely on alternative options in the role behind the strikers.
The 26-year-old is no stranger to San Siro.
Diaz spent three seasons on loan at AC Milan between 2020 and 2023, making more than 120 appearances across all competitions and playing an important role in the club’s 2021-22 Serie A title-winning campaign.
Calciomercato adds that Diaz has maintained a strong connection with the Italian club since his departure, suggesting that a formal approach from Milan could persuade the Morocco international to seriously consider a return to Milanello.
While no official negotiations have been confirmed, Diaz is reportedly among the names being discussed internally as Milan continue their search for reinforcements in attacking midfield.
The Moroccan international is currently under contract with Real Madrid, and any potential transfer would likely depend on the Spanish club’s plans for the player ahead of the 2026-27 season.
