Agadir – Morocco’s private electricity producer, TAQA Morocco, has announced a reorganization aimed at restructuring its activities into specialized subsidiaries and transforming the company into a holding model to support its future growth and energy transition ambitions.

In a statement issued today, the company said its Supervisory Board, which met on July 17, 2026, approved the principle of reorganizing TAQA Morocco’s activities by creating subsidiaries dedicated to specific business lines or groups of assets.

“The creation of subsidiaries aims to transform TAQA Morocco into a multi-asset platform model, capable of supporting Morocco’s energy and sustainable transition by developing a diversified portfolio of activities,” the company said.

The new structure will bring together activities spanning low-carbon energy generation, seawater desalination, and water and energy transportation, according to the statement.

Under the planned model, TAQA Morocco will evolve into a holding company responsible for supervising its subsidiaries and coordinating the Group’s development around its strategic priorities.

“The company is set to become a holding company responsible for overseeing all of its subsidiaries and coordinating the Group’s development around its strategic priorities,” TAQA Morocco said.

The first stage of the reorganization will focus on the company’s assets linked to Units 1 to 4 of the Jorf Lasfar thermal power plant.

TAQA Morocco said certain rights, obligations, and assets related to these units will be transferred to Jorf Lasfar Energy Company 1-4, a Moroccan-law subsidiary fully owned by company. It added that its equity ownership will remain entirely held by TAQA Morocco.

The restructuring is part of company ’s broader strategy to develop a diversified energy platform and expand into sectors aligned with Morocco’s sustainable transition objectives.
