Norway’s FA chief revealed on Thursday that they will file a formal complaint to FIFA ethics investigators about Donald Trump’s intervention over the suspension of Folarin Bolagun.

Norwegian federation Lise Klaveness said in an interview published on Thursday with The Times that she will not allow the scandal to be swept “under carpet,” she urged Gianni Infantino to admit FIFA made an error in suspending the American’s ban.

Klaveness slammed FIFA’s unprecedented 60-year decision, stating the verdict was compromised by outside influence and lacked the proper procedure.

“When you bend a rule like this, you’re on a slippery slope that threatens the integrity of the game,” Klaveness stressed.

“Bending fundamental regulations of the game poses a major threat,” she added, stressing: “We need our leader in FIFA to admit that this was an error.”

The human rights NGO FairSquare has also submitted an IOC ethics complaint against Infantino for breaching political neutrality rules in the Balogun case.

Balogun was set to miss the round 16 match against Belgium following a red card against Bosnia-Herzegovina. However, following the intervention of US president Donald Trump, FIFA suspended his one-match ban without offering any explanation.

The forward was subsequently included in the starting lineup against Belgium, but the US suffered a 4-1 defeat that ended their World Cup ambitions on home soil.
