Casablanca – Donald Trump’s remarks never fail to spark controversy, during a press conference at the White House on Friday, July 24, the American president was asked about the transfer of NBA legend LeBron James to his new team, the Philadelphia 76ers. A Fox News journalist then asked him who was the greatest player of all time: LeBron James or Michael Jordan.
” Michael Jordan is a friend of mine. I play golf with him. He’s a really good guy,” Donald Trump responded before attacking the new 76ers player. “I think LeBron is… Maybe he’s racist, but maybe he doesn’t like Trump. I don’t know. I only like people who like me, so I would say Michael Jordan without hesitation,” the American president continued.
This accusation by Donald Trump is not a coincidence. In the last three presidential elections in the United States, the 41-year-old basketball player had publicly supported the Democratic candidates each time: Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and then Kamala Harris.
“He kind of used sports to divide us, and that’s something I don’t understand,” LeBron James accused Trump in a 2018 interview with CNN. The then-president, who was serving his first term, fired back by congratulating the journalist for having succeeded in “making LeBron look intelligent, which isn’t easy.”
